Mahamudra Art Project

Art for Peace

We started creating the Mahamudra Art - Art for Peace  Project in 2014, which consists mainly of large-scale oil or acrylic paintings showing buddhist masters being in the state of deep Meditation, called Mahamudra.

Ever since our meditation teacher Jigme Rinpoche has been accompanying and supporting our work and its underlying intentions.

June 11th, 2014 His Holiness Shamar Rinpoche passed away. Exactly one year later a first exhibition took place at the Bodhi Path Center in Renchen-Ulm with selected paintings honouring him. Additionally a portrait of Shamar Rinpoche is installed on his throne in the meditation room.

In August 2015 the paintings were shown during the visit of His Holiness the 17th Karmapa in Dhagpo, Dordogne, France. As special gifts two of these artworks were given to the meditation centres in Dhagpo and in Kundrol Ling.

In 2016 we produced hundreds of Tsatsas containing relics of Shamar Rinpoche in order to support the  „Sharminub“ Institut in Nepal.

Right now among painting we are working on a book project in cooperation with Jigme Rinpoche. Additionally we are organizing a

Symposium on economy and ethics in Switzerland; a children´s book and several exhibition of paintings are about to follow.

The Profit of our Art for Peace project is being donated in support of development aid in the Himalayan region, focusing on basic and long term needs such as health, care and education. The relief organisations we are working for are „Infinite Compassion“, Germany, „Sharminub Knowledge Rising“, France and others.
